Business Model
The University of Zambia Journal of Agricultural and Biomedical Sciences (UNZA JABS) operates under a diamond open-access model, free to both authors and readers. We are committed to the equitable dissemination of scientific knowledge, particularly within the African research and academic communities.
UNZA JABS is hosted on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, a free and open-source software provided by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). We are grateful to the University of Zambia Library and ICT directorate for their technical support and management of the journal portal.
The journal’s editorial operations, peer review management, and publication infrastructure are currently funded through institutional support from the University of Zambia. Additional revenue may be generated through the sale of limited print copies for academic libraries, training institutions, and government departments.
To ensure long-term sustainability and continued high-quality publishing, UNZA JABS actively seeks:
- Collaborative partnerships with local, regional, and international research organizations
- Institutional sponsorships
- Grant funding for capacity building, digital infrastructure, and research dissemination
We welcome partnerships that align with our mission to promote accessible, credible, and impactful science across the agricultural and biomedical fields.
